Pre-flight Planning

Weather

  • Auroa can't fly in the rain, and the Wiris Pro camera offers no ingress protection, so we do not recommend flying in any precipitation.

  • In cold temperatures:

    • We recommend allowing 3-5 minutes of warm-up after powering on. This lets the IR sensor inside the Wiris Pro reach a steady temperature for the most accurate measurements. During warm-up, the gimbal and camera will still function normally, but the IR sensor's temperature data might be less accurate.

    • Make sure your Aurora batteries don't get too cold.

  • The Wiris Pro Payload matches Aurora's operational temperature range of -20C to +50C

Checks

  • Ensure the Wiris Pro Payload is securely attached to the Smart Dovetail mount and that the safety latch is closed.

  • When you’re ready to fly, perform the standard preflight checks for Aurora (found below).
